Differentiate Your Practice with the Q-2100

CI601 ImageCidra Optical is located in Cidra, Puerto Rico, a city of approximately 43,000 people in the central part of the island. Away from the tourist destinations of the coast, owner Melvin Alvarez has the only system in his city. Celebrating his 6-year anniversary as part of the Optical Dynamics family this August, he wanted to provide a different level of service to his patients.

Not only does he have the only system in the city, he is the only laboratory in town that can provide one to two hour service on progressives and FT lenses. Alvarez consistently produces over 60 pair per month utilizing the equipment to its fullest potential with particular focus on nanoCLEAR AR and sunSMART II photochromic lenses. Alvarez is thrilled to have all his patients in eyeglasses the same day. “That is truly amazing,” he concludes.

Best Image Optical Shares 18 Years of Q-2100 Ownership

Best Image Optical located in Bridgetown Barbados has utilized the Q-2100 Digital Lens System since 1999. Paul Hinds, Lab Manager, has been operating the equipment for nearly 18-years. As one of our long time customers, Paul has years of experience to share.

“What I like about the Q-2100 is that it’s fast and efficient compared to grinding lenses,” says Hinds. “I love when I use it to make rush job for customers who are waiting only an hours or less,” he added.

According to Hinds, “the technology has impacted the practice very positively through the progressive lens produced with the Q-2100. “Customers have a wider area of view so they have no problem seeing,” he added.

Adding the ultraSUN photochromic product to their practice, Hinds concludes with, “the photochromic product is great and works very well in the hot and sunny climate of the Caribbean.”

Celebrating 7-Years of Improved Service & Patient Satisfaction

La Grande Family Eye Care in La Grande, OR added the Q-2100 Digital Lens System with nanoCLEAR AR to their practice 7-years ago this month. Their knowledgeable optometrists and friendly staff are eager to help their patients with all their vision needs. For this reason, the practice wanted to dispense a “high quality lens with a short turn around time to their patient base.” The purchase of the Q-2100 with nanoCLEAR AR was the perfection choice to make to make this happen.

According to the staff, “improved patient satisfaction and lower lab bills,” have been achieved by making digital lenses in house.

Eye Center Boutique Opens 10th Location with Q-2100

Eye Center Boutique of Puerto Rico opened their tenth location with a Q-2100 Digital Lens System and nanoCLEAR AR unit this April. “With nine very successful locations across the island, the addition of a tenth boutique was the logical next step.” The newest location, positioned on the northern coast, approximately 15 miles from San Juan, continues to capitalize on their unique optical concept of selling high end handbags and shoes with prescription eyewear. What better way to cater to fashion conscious consumers.

Optical Dynamics is proud to have our technology as an integral  part of their successful business plan and looks forward to working with this up and coming retail chain as they continue to grow.

Patients Appreciate Fast Delivery

Mary Sheedy is an Optican at Ortiz Eye Associates in Morris, IL and has been dispensing eyewear processed with the Q-2100 Digital Lens System for over 10 years. “I like that we make our own lenses in house, it saves the practice money on ordering out jobs and the fast turn around time for the patients is great,” shared Mary.

“The patients really like the lens quality and appreciate our in-office lens capability,” added Mary.

Out With the Old, In With the New

Family Vision Center in Hobbs, NM, has been providing eyecare to the Southeastern New Mexico and West Texas since 1977. Celebrating their 9-year anniversary with Optical Dynamics, Family Vision Center is family owned practice. Drs. Reber and Reber added the Q-2100 and nanoCLEAR AR unit after attending the South West Council of Optometry trade show where the technology was shown.

According to the lab manager, “we no longer use the old, loud surfacing generator to make our  progressive lenses as this outdated way of making them was time consuming and many mistakes could be made.” “Now with the Q-2100 it takes but a few minutes to get the CFL progressive lenses ready for the customer and there are fewer errors as the computer gives us the corrects molds to use,” he added. “The lenses are very accurate and patients are very happy with their lenses and they keep coming back,” he concluded.

When asked what he likes best about the technology the lab manager shared, “What I like best is that as an office, we can now provide the best quality lenses in the shortest amount of time for our patients. The lenses are thin and the clarity is amazing. We recommend the lenses to all our patients.”

Point of View with Dr. Kerry Holt

Kerry Holt, OD practicing since 1998

In February, 2010, I added the Q-2100 and nanoCLEAR AR unit to my practice, Eyeland Vision in El Paso, TX . For years I ordered lenses from an outside laboratory, but began investigating options to speed up the process of returning finished eyewear to my patients. I considered adding a surfacing lab, but it was complicated, expensive, with high maintenance, and didn’t address AR. I wanted to control the service level I could provide while at the same time control the quality of the lenses I dispensed. With the purchase of the Q-2100 technology I now do both. I provide just-in-time delivery of lenses with or without anti reflective coating and the digital lenses I produce are optically pristine and superior to traditionally surfaced lenses.

With the installation of this technology I was also able to control my cost of goods for the first time. The return on investment was almost immediate with our typical lab bill cut not long after installation. I can produce progressive lenses that stand out in design and durability while improving my bottom line. Most importantly, my patients are extremely pleased with the delivery speed and optics of their new eyeglasses and we are pleased with their repeat business.

Patient Satisfaction Every Time with the Q-2100

The EyeDcotors in Manhattan, KS has been utilizing the Q-2100 Digital Lens System with nanoCLEAR AR since 2005.

According to the operator, “The lens fabrication system is a wonderful addition to our practice. It makes it possible to make a high quality lens without having to involve another lab. I like the new non-glare product as well; we have had numerous patients comment that this is the best coating they have ever had. The system is perfect for making a satisfied patient every time and a lens that lasts as long, if not longer, than the lenses from our partnering labs.”

When asked how this technology has impacted the practice she replied, “It has transformed our practice because of the capabilities of not having to rely on others to make our lenses. We are able to create a high quality lens in our practice, on the same day for our patients. Because we are located close to a military base, we frequently have to do jobs for patients quickly. Unfortunately, on several occasions our labs have not been able to accommodate this so we turn to the Q-2100 to make our patients happy. The ability to keep our patients happy is key with our practice and without a doubt the Q-2100  has certainly helped to accomplish this.”

Eyeland Vision Delights with Design & Delivery Time

Eyeland Vision, a Vision Trends member location, purchased the in-office system for the practice in 2010. Jack Rosales, lab manager, has been running the equipment since installation and Ivonne Rocha, Optician, has been dispensing the lenses for more than a year.

EV606 Image“I love the fact that I can get glasses ready for patients fast,” said Jack. “The lenses are great and patients adapt easily to the designs,” he added. According to Jack, “A patient came in complaining about progressives in the past. I told him about how much easier it was to adapt this progressive and the patient acknowledged and bought a pair. The Patient picked up glasses next day and he was very pleased. He has recommended a lot of patients to us. “

EV606 (Ivonne) ImageIvonne shares, “A patient came in with broken glasses. He went to several optical locations but he had to wait about a week to get glasses made with anti glare and photo. He called here and we told him he could have them in an hour and a half. The patient was very happy and will be coming here for his glasses from now on!”
