Optical Dynamics is pleased to celebrate 7-years working with Dr. Peter Lombard and the Team from Lombard Health. Located in Sinajana, Guam, Dr. Lombard personally visited our headquarters in Louisville, KY for training.
As a graduate of Annapolis, John Hopkins Medical School, and 2016 Rio Olympian, Dr. Lombard is committed to providing quality, ethical and compassionate eye care for his patients. As shared on his practice website, his philosophy is simple: Inspire trust, practice with honesty, and communicate with respect.
Dr. Lombard wanted the latest in lens processing technology for his newly opened dispensary. Providing patients with quality eye wear and just-in-time delivery was key to his decision making process. Adding the technology to the island also keeps jobs and business local, an important factor of his ongoing business plan. We look forward to hearing of Dr. Lombard’s continued success.
With the Optical Dynamics Digital Lens System you create a finished Rx directly from the premium index lens material, eliminating the need to stock a semi-finished blank that is later surfaced to the final prescription. This lowers expense and ends the delivery challenges associated with ordering, shipping and managing an inventory of thick semi-finished lens blanks or disposable molds. This process also reduces the variables of surfacing and ensures consistent high quality digital lenses at a much lower cost.
With the Q-2100 Digital Lens System, all you inventory is the bottle of premium lens material. This bottle in clearLIGHT, sunSMART, ultraSUN, or blueVIEW, becomes a progressive lens, a single vision lens, a flattop lens, a plus lens or a minus lens. With bottles packaged in 16 to 32 pair for production, you have on hand what you need when you need it. As written in an article by Joseph Bruneni for Eye Care Business, “This is an inventory control concept called just-in-time delivery and works when limited inventory is stored at hand until shortly before it is needed for the production line…lens casting its a prime example of how such a process can work.”

Belleville Optical located on the island of Barbados, has long been a believer in the benefits of in office lens production. In business since 1994, Belleville Optical added the Q-2100 Digital Lens System to her practice in 1999. With limited lens procurement options available on the island, Belleville wanted an in-office system that was user friendly and easy to integrate. “I added the Q-2100 technology to improve turn around time for delivering spectacles to our patients” shared the location. “It has drastically improved our delivery time thereby improving our cash flow,” the location added.
Belleville’s practice primarily caters to the forty and over demographic. For this reason, the quality of the progressive design and finished lens was very important to the decision making process. “Patients are very happy with the lightness and clarity of the lenses.” Located in a sunny warm climate, photochromics were also of key importance and Belleville’s patients love the sunSMART II photochromics.
